Planners vs. Notebooks
Did you know that with Golden Coil you not only have the ability to create a custom planner, but you can also create a custom notebook? All of the extra pages that you can add to your planner can also be put together to make a notebook. But why would you choose a notebook over a planner? Let us share a few ideas!
PLANNING PREFERENCES
If you prefer to plan on a daily or weekly basis, a planner will be the best choice for you. We have layouts for both types of planning that cover a wide array of planning styles. On the other hand, if you prefer to just plan on a monthly basis, a notebook is your best option. Making a notebook allows you to use all the same pages as a planner, but without having to select a daily or weekly planning layout. You can add undated monthly calendar pages to a notebook along with any other +pages you prefer to make the perfect monthly planner for yourself.
TYPE OF SCHEDULE
If you have a really busy schedule, you’ll probably want all of the planning space a daily or weekly planner will provide. In addition to roomy sections to plan each day, our layouts include various combinations of to-do lists, gratitude lists, meal planning space, or habit trackers. But if you have a more relaxed schedule, you may find that you don’t need all of the space and features of a daily or weekly planner, in which case a notebook will be just what you need. You can create a monthly planning notebook as described above, or you can omit the undated monthly calendars and create a notebook that complements your type of schedule. Maybe you only need a to-do list for each week or a meal-planning page followed by a lined page for notes. Whatever works best for you, our selection of notebook pages will give you all the options you need.
PURPOSE
One of our favorite benefits of making a custom planner is that it allows you to combine all of your notebooks with your planner. You can keep everything in one place! Choose a daily or weekly layout that works for you and then supplement your planner with pages that would otherwise be found in separate notebooks, such as meal planning, recipes, budgeting, mood tracking, project or social media planning, and goal tracking or journaling.
Of course, you could also make a custom notebook for the sole purpose of consolidating your notebooks, especially if you don’t need or want it to be included with your planner. Or, you could create a custom notebook to be something specific like a bullet journal, a memorabilia recipe book, a baby memory notebook, a mental health journal, or a sketchbook. (See our blog post for details on each of these ideas and more!)
However you decide to customize a Golden Coil planner or notebook, we hope you find everything you need to make the perfect book for you! And of course, if you have more ideas or suggestions for using a planner vs. a notebook, please share with us in the comments below.
