Planning in Your Everyday Life – Even if You Think It’s Not for You:
Where are my wannabe planners at? Those of you that love the idea of planning on paper but don’t think you are the type to keep it up? The ones that love the smell of a fresh new planner and enjoy getting the fun accessories and new pens only to make it a month or two before falling off the band wagon? This post is for you!
Planning doesn’t need to be overwhelming! In fact, it should be the opposite! It should help you get a weight off your chest by getting all your thoughts and “To-Dos” on paper. Here at Golden Coil we give you the opportunity to customize your notebooks and planners to your specific needs. This is great for starting out because you can get just the pages you need and will use! Below are a few tips for our readers that are wanting to get into planning but might not think it’s for you!
1 - Start Simple:
When taking a look at our website, all the incredible choices for layouts and +pages may be initially overwhelming. Just start simple! Choose a basic layout – our favorites can be found HERE, and minimal +pages. It's a good idea to start simple with your planning as well. Once you receive your Golden Coil, start writing the little things down. Tasks you do every day/week regardless. It will help you get in the habit of writing things down – and who doesn’t like an easy check off of your to-do list?!
2 – Put your planner where you can see it:
You will never use your planner if it is out of sight, out of mind! Keep it on a kitchen counter, nightstand or dresser so that you pass by it multiple times a day! This makes it easy to cross off to-dos and pencil in appointments.
3 – Make it fun:
Add fun holidays to your calendar when creating it on our website! It is a fun way to celebrate lots of days throughout the month and helps encourage usage. Grab some fun new pens or stickers and enjoy being creative with it!
4 – Have a set planning day or time:
By having set times that you block out for planning, it will help you get into the habit of getting things on paper. If you live with a significant other or have kids in multiple activities, it can be helpful to have a weekly planning session to get your week mapped out. Sunday nights can be a great time for this!
5 – Consider using your planner for more than just planning:
There are so many ways to utilize your Golden Coil planner for things other than just planning and to-dos! It can be a journal, a small family memory album, a way for you to get designs on paper and so much more! Getting into planning begins with just starting! Get in the habit of using it every day and pretty soon you won’t be able to imagine a time without your Golden Coil!
