Water Tracking in Your Golden Coil
Agua. Eau. Wasser. Shui. Tubig. In celebration of World Water Day tomorrow, today’s post is all about WATER. We’re big fans over here! Today, we will share why tracking your daily water intake is important, and which Golden Coil layouts you can use to hit your 8 cups a day!
But first, a few fun facts about water:
Around 70% of the human body is made up of water.
Around 75% of the human brain is made up of water.
Water regulates your brain functions and helps you to stay awake and attentive.
Staying hydrated flushes waste and toxins from your body and promotes healthy digestion.
Drinking enough water supports healthy weight loss and makes your skin strong and smooth.
Every single cell, tissue, and organ in your body needs water to function properly and optimally.
Some of the early effects of dehydration are: headaches, fatigue, dizziness, inability to focus, and thirst.
A person can live approximately a month without food, but only a week without water.
Most health institutions recommend 8 cups of water per day for adults, however, you might need more if you:
Exercise heavily
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have recently been sick
Live in a hot or humid environment
It’s pretty safe to say that most of us know - staying hydrated is vitally important. However, drinking an adequate volume of water each day is often forgotten without the proper cues. If you regularly see something that cues you to drink, you’re more likely to do it! Examples of helpful cues might include: seeing your filled water bottle sitting on the kitchen counter, walking by the water dispenser at the office, or using a planner page that includes daily water tracking!
Fortunately for you, many Golden Coil layouts and health-related +Pages include water tracking. We love this for so many reasons. Not only does tracking guarantee that we will drink more, it also helps us to identify patterns. Headache today? Oh yeah, I’ve had literally nothing to drink all day! Stiff joints or sore muscles? Yep, time to take a few sips. Can’t focus? Take a little trip to the hydration station. So often we over-complicate our physical and mental symptoms, when we simply need to drink more.
If you’re in the middle of a planner and want to start tracking water, but don’t have a layout that includes the water cup graphics to color in, no worries! Just draw them in for now, and consider adding a new page with water tracking next time around. Here’s a quick glimpse of our favorites:
We hope this post inspires you to grab your water bottle, fill ‘er up, and stay hydrated today and tomorrow for World Water Day. If you have any questions about how to add water tracking layouts or +Pages to your next planner, we are always happy to help. Reach out to us at contact@goldencoil.com.
Happy hydrating, all!
