5 Ways to Prep for 2021

Golden Coil Customizable Planners Goals Preparing for 2021

A fresh new year is right around the corner! We know this year has been difficult for all of us and we hope the holidays help to lift your spirits. As you’re looking forward to 2021, we’ve got 5 suggestions to help you start the new year on the right foot.

1. ORDER YOUR PLANNER - If you need a new planner starting in January, now is the time to order! We’ve been notified by UPS that an uptick in online shopping this year may slow delivery across the U.S., so the earlier you order your planner, the better! Take a minute to update your contacts and event calendars, upload them to your planner, and get customizing! (If you need a tutorial on uploading contacts, click here. 2. PRACTICE MINDFULNESS - You may already be in an excellent habit of meditating, especially after such a difficult year, but if you’re not, you don’t have to wait for the new year to try it out! We love the Headspace and Calm apps because they make a mindful practice approachable. Taking time to meditate over the last few weeks of this year can help you get in a healthy, reflective, and hopeful headspace for 2021.

3. SET GOALS - Meditating can also help you get in the right headspace for goal-setting! This year has definitely taught us to be flexible with our goals, so as you think about what you want to do in 2021, be sure to set goals that are achievable but also adaptive. This doesn’t mean you have to sell yourself short, but approach goal-setting with grace for yourself and open-mindedness about your circumstances.

4. SIMPLIFY - Few things make a new year as refreshing as incorporating some “out with the old.” Take time to downsize your family’s wardrobe, pare down your kid’s toys and books, and get rid of anything you no longer use. This is a really meaningful activity to do as a family with the perspective of giving to those in need, especially after such a trying year. Encourage your kids to think of someone who would really enjoy their extra clothes, books, and toys!

5. TAKE CARE - The holidays demand a lot, especially if you’re in charge of all the shopping and meal-prepping for your family. Be sure to prioritize time for yourself so you don’t start 2021 exhausted and depleted! Unwind with a good book, schedule wellness appointments you’ve been putting off, prioritize your sleep and/or try something new that sounds interesting to you.
