How to Track Reading Goals & Book Recs
Whether you want to read more this year or you’re already on your fiftieth book, your planner is there to support your reading goals. From tracking titles to logging recommendations from friends, librarians or Bookstagram—the Reading page helps you stay organized and inspired.
Here’s how to make the most of it:
Tips & Tricks for TRACKING READING & RECS
1. Use It as a Comprehensive Book List
Jot down every title you want to read—even if it’s months away. Add notes like “social media recs,” “book club reads,” or “gift idea.” You could also use genre or other categories like Romantasy, Top Priority, or Mystery.
2. Track What You’ve Finished
The Reading page provides a “Finished” checkmark and date column. The latter is the perfect place to log when you start and finish a novel. Seeing a full page of completed books? So satisfying!
3. Rate & Reflect
The Reading page provides a handy star-rating system, and a line for notes/reviews. Having all the information in one place will make passing on recommendations to others a breeze.
4. Categorize by Genre or Mood
If you’re a mood reader, you could create icons, columns or whole pages dedicated to: “Cozy,” “Heartbreaking,” or “Funny Reads,” etc. Simply tune into your mood, and you’ll always know what book to pick next.
5. Set Seasonal or Monthly Reading Goals
Use your planner’s Goals page to set Yearly, Monthly, Weekly and even Daily reading goals. Whether it’s number of books or trying different genres, etc., setting manageable specific goals will help you on your way to bookish success!
6. Try Analog Tracking
Apps like Goodreads and Fable are great for tracking, but you may not always want to share what you’re reading publicly or you may feel pressure to rate a book based on others’ opinions. Having a paper tracking system can be a fully honest reflection, and also be fun to look back on to see where your reading journey has taken you.
Whether you’re an all-out bibliophile or just getting started logging your reads, hopefully these tips, and your planner, can help keep you organized and curled up with your next five-star read!
