2024 Design Contest

We are so excited to be holding another design contest! We are looking for an awesome design and we want YOU to be the one who designs it! The contest will begin February 26, 2024 at 8:00 AM MST and end March 20, 2024 at 11:59 PM MST.

TO ENTER:

  1. Create your design

  2. Post your design to Instagram in a new post or reel

  3. Tag @golden.coil in the caption and use the hashtag #GCxDESIGN24

  4. Submit your design file and information here: https://form.typeform.com/to/MI1SsvWs

The top ten designs will be chosen by the Golden Coil team and go to a vote on our Instagram feed starting March 27, 2024. The winner will be announced by April 3, 2024 and will be printed as one of our 2024-2025 covers.

WINNINGS:

  • $500 award

  • 5 planners or notebooks

RULES:

  • A maximum of ONE entry per person may be submitted

  • Submissions must be of YOUR original work and in a new Instagram post - please do not tag old design posts

  • Designs must comply with design specifications

    • Golden Coil trademarks on front and back covers must remain in place

    • Original design must be at least 9 x 12

    • No additional gold foiling on front or back covers


SUBMISSION SUGGESTIONS:

  • We have found that people respond to designs best when they are photoshopped onto one of our planners. We have provided some templates in our Dropbox folder for you to use.

  • We recommend avoiding large, empty swaths of color in your design. This prevents banding when the cover is printed. Multiple color elements tend to work best.

  • Note that your design will need to be large enough to wrap around the edges of the planner. Please make sure that your pattern/design extends the full width and length of 9 x 12 in. We have included a planner cover template in the Dropbox folder for you to use.

  • When creating your design, think of what kind of design you would want to be on the planner you purchase.

LICENSE:

  • Golden Coil will license the winning design for the duration of 1 year from the date of first sale. The license will be exclusive to the stationery industry.
