Ways to Keep Track of Special Dates
Our planners offer so many ways to track the most important dates in your life. Whether it’s jotting down special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, or remembering first moments with little ones, our layouts make it easy to track it all. There are countless layouts and pages to keep track of important dates and moments. Today we are highlighting a few of our favorite approaches.
Print Your Dates
Did you know you can have important dates like birthdays and anniversaries printed in your Golden Coil planner before you receive it? When you are customizing your planner, go to the Events tab and click upload. Here you can upload an ICS file from your computer. To access an ICS file, go to the settings of your digital calendar and look for an export option. Export the calendars of your choice and upload to Golden Coil. Your notebook will arrive with your dates printed in the calendar!
Year At-A-Glance
We offer three Year at a Glance layouts. Year At A Glance 1 provides 12 vertical boxes, while Year At A Glance 2 provides 12 horizontal boxes. Year At A Glance 3 provides a small box for each day of the year. Many Golden Coil users like to save recurring dates for the more traditional monthly calendar layout and use these Year At A Glance pages as a reflection spot for each month, or in the case of the Year At A Glance 3, a spot for each day. If you prefer to jot down your dates in the Year at a Glance layouts, you can make a simple bulleted list of dates in each box. For Year At A Glance 3, you can use a highlighter to mark an occasion, say blue for birthday. Highlight the box and jot down the person's name inside. If you have a habit you would like to track across the year, Year At A Glance 3 is a great layout to utilize!
Monthly Calendars
All Golden Coil planners include a traditional dated monthly layout. This calendar will include any holidays you’ve selected when customizing your planner, as well as any personal dates you’ve uploaded for printing. These calendars offer ample space for noting birthdays and other important milestones. You may find the Month at a Glance page great for highlighting a special memory each day. Some of our Golden Coil insiders also like to use this layout as a daily gratitude journal.
Getting Creative
Our contributor Myndi likes to use the corresponding lined page next to her Month At-A-Glance page to collect mementos and photos from the month (think ticket stubs, lunch box notes, invitations, even grocery lists) and places them in an envelope, which is glued to the page. “I like to think of my planner as a little time capsule for this phase of life. It has been so fun to look back at past months and see memories and items collected over time. My kids especially love to go through the envelopes and find treasures from the past year.”
