Getting to Know Our Founders: Michelle
We are so excited to share part two of Getting to Know Our Founders on the blog. Today, we highlight Michelle, the second driving force of Golden Coil. Michelle is a go-getter who truly loves her people. Fun, ambitious, generous, and dedicated are a few words that come to mind when we think of her. Read on to be inspired by our recent interview:
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hi! I’m Michelle! I’m a mom of three little girls, currently living in Canada! I love planning and all things organization. I also enjoy making cookies in any variety.
What does Golden Coil mean to you?
Trisha and I sometimes refer to Golden Coil as our ‘other child’. We love this business like it is our family! We are so grateful for the opportunity Golden Coil has given us to help people create more productive and peaceful lives through purposeful planning.
What is it like being in business with your sister?
Being in business with Trisha is truly the best. I love that I have an excuse to talk to her every day! Even more than that, I believe she is the absolute best business partner. Who she is, how she works, and what she does is such an asset to Golden Coil. This business could not exist without her!
Who is the most organized between you and Trisha? Who is the most creative?
Trisha and I are both very organized in our own ways. Luckily, in the places I lack, she excels and vise versa. Trisha is the most creative hands down. The ideas she comes up with always blow me away, and her ability to execute them is even more magical.
How has planning grounded you during life transitions?
Planning has always been a very grounding exercise for me. Being able to see all my tasks, goals, and worries out on paper has always made everything seem manageable. This has been especially true in each of my major life transtions.
What does your current planning routine look like?
Well, right now, I’m a little scrambled. Between moving to a different country, my husband starting a new job, kids in new schools, buying our first house, and prepping for the holidays - I’ve been in survival mode. If I can prioritize a few tasks each morning and accomplish one or two, that is a win for me! I’m hoping I can find my regular planning stride once the New Year is here!
What gives you the motivation and confidence to move forward despite challenges?
Having an incredible support system has always been my greatest confidence booster. Having people around me who love and believe in me makes any goal feel within reach, regardless of the difficulty.
What is your ultimate vision for Golden Coil?
My dream for Golden Coil is that more people can find it. Being able to customize my planner and plan in a way that works for me has completely changed my days. To give that added peace and organization to others has been and will always be the most rewarding part of running this business.
