Lesser Known Holidays: May
In the month of May, Mother’s Day gets a lot of focus, and for good reason! But we wanted to highlight some of the lesser known holidays this month. Did you know you can add preset events when creating your planner to remind you when Doughnut Day is, for example? Here are just a few ways to make your month a little more festive.
May 11th - Eat What You Want Day
This seems like a holiday most of us can get behind. Some ideas on how to celebrate:
Do a restaurant or food truck “crawl” in your city or town. Choose four or five restaurants (or more!) and hop from one place to the next, trying the different offerings. You could also plan by appetizer, main course, and dessert, choosing different spots for each.
Let your children or significant other pick everything on the menu for dinner. You can set some guidelines or go all out.
May 12th - International Nurses Day
Celebrate by showing gratitude to a nurse. Send cards or a treat to your local hospital or a nurse you know personally.
May 15th - Chocolate Chip Day
Celebrate this delicious morsel by putting it in everything. The classic chocolate chip cookie is always a winner, but you can also try this homemade chili recipe that uses chocolate chips!
May 21st - Bike to Work Day
The title says it all, but with many people working from home, take a celebratory ride around the block or bike with your children to school.
