2021 Design Contest
It’s February, which means it’s time for our annual cover design contest—we are so excited! We are looking for an awesome design and we want YOU to be the one who designs it! The contest will begin February 1, 2021 at 9:00 AM MST and end February 17, 2021 at 11:59 PM MST.
TO ENTER:
1. Create your design
2. Post your design to Instagram in a new post
3. Tag @golden.coil in the caption and use the hashtag #GCxDESIGN21
4. Email your design to designcontest@goldencoil.com - please include your name and Instagram handle in the email
The top ten designs will be chosen by the Golden Coil team and go to a vote on our Instagram feed from February 22, 2021 to February 25, 2021, at 11:59 PM MST. The design with the most votes will be printed as one of our 2021-2022 covers - available for purchase July/Aug 2021. The winner will be announced on February 26, 2021.

5 planners or notebooks
RULES:
A maximum of ONE entry per person may be submitted
Submissions must be of YOUR work and in a new Instagram post - please do not tag old design posts
Designs must comply with design specifications
Golden Coil trademarks on front and back covers must remain in place
Original design must be at least 9 x 12 in
No additional gold foiling on front or back covers
SUBMISSION SUGGESTIONS:
We have found that people respond to designs best when they are Photoshopped onto one of our planners. We have provided some templates in our Dropbox folder for you to use. See our blog post here for information about using these templates.
We recommend avoiding large, empty swaths of color in your design. This prevents banding when the cover is printed. Multiple colorful elements tend to work best.
Note that your design will need to be large enough to wrap around the edges of the planner. Please make sure that your pattern/design extends the full width and length of 9 x 12 in.
Your design can be the same on both the front and back of the planner or it can travel between the front and back cover.
When creating your design, think of what kind of design you would want to be on the planner you purchase.
People who have previously entered our design contest have found it helpful to put their designs up for a vote on their own Instagram before deciding which one to submit. This helps gauge which design is most popular with a wider audience, meaning they submit a design most likely to win!
