Planning Helps Me Be More: Peaceful
One of the things we love most about planning is its transformative nature. It’s a simple practice that, over time, helps you turn thought into action and transforms you into a better self. Planning out actions and goals is the secret to reaching your potential. Simply put, planning helps each of us to be more.
We talked with some of our most dedicated planners in the Golden Coil community and asked them to tell us how planning regularly helps them feel more peaceful. We hope you feel as inspired and motivated as we did from their beautiful insight!
“Planning helps me to be more peaceful. As an individual, I am already inclined towards anxiety. As a mom to four children, ages 6 and under, I appreciate all the peace I can get. By writing down the tasks that, left uncompleted, are causing me to feel anxiety, I can feel the burden already begin to lift. When I check off a task as complete, I can feel it fly entirely away. The result is a much more peaceful spirit with a greater capacity to give of myself to my husband and children.” -Mary Koppert
“Planning helps me stay peaceful about what I have going on in my life. I am a full time employee, I have a son and I am going to school to finish my MBA at nights. If I don’t write down all my tasks, I find myself thinking about them day after day and becoming distracted by my to do list. Getting it all down on paper helps me find peace that everything will get done, a little at a time.” -Jacqueline Serrano
“This feeling of knowing what I have to do that comes from planning out my time and tasks gives me peace. The satisfaction of putting pen to paper keeps me centered, and there is a tactile satisfaction in seeing the words on the page. Because I am a very visual person, I need to see my weekly tasks in order to create plans to achieve them and planning gives me that ability.” -Cynthia Wolf
“Golden Coil helps me be more peaceful because it gives me peace of mind knowing exactly what I need to do during my day and when I am going to do it. I no longer feel scatterbrained and if I do, I know exactly where to go to straighten everything out. As a graduate student, it is important to me that I can go about my day without feeling anxious and stressed so I can focus on school.” -Katie Carley
“I feel most at peace when I have a sense of what my days may look like. Not having a plan makes me uneasy, and the first few weeks of spring I was a nervous wreck. Even now, not knowing what the school year looks like, I am uncomfortable, but I’m doing my best to stay calm by planning to keep my daughters home and researching homeschool curriculum for my eldest. Though I still don’t know what we’ll do, I feel better knowing that whatever happens I’ve done my best to be prepared and carefully researched all of our options.” -Sara Allison
