Getting to Know Our Team: Kathy O'Cain
We’re so excited to feature a series of interviews of members of the Golden Coil team, starting with our phenomenal print liason, Kathy! Kathy is an incredibly organized and avid notetaker and without her, we wouldn’t have the beautiful materials that make our planners and notebooks what they are. We hope you enjoy getting to know her!
1. Tell us about yourself!
“I have been in the print production business for 40 years - YIKES. Started out in NYC with a print broker as a production manager and never looked back.
Currently, I am the Golden Coil team lead representing RRD and have been with this organization for 20 years. As team lead, I worked side by side with Trisha Zemp in sourcing the all-important materials that are such a huge part of their beautiful products. In addition, I helped develop a model that automates order entry through production. Overall, it is my responsibility to ensure my customers are delighted!”
2. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
“Free time...YAY! While I'm not cooking up a storm for my family (Sunday Fam dinners are the best) I am exercising. I am a total gym rat year round and skiing and hiking are my seasonal passions. I have 3 pups, all westies, who keep me quite busy as well. I also love to read and I admit to being a Mahjong addict.”
3. What do you love most about using a paper planner?
“I am more of a note keeper and love the Golden Coil notebooks! I keep lists for all of my daily tasks and also keep a section of the notebook just for work. I am an avid note taker and keep all of my notebooks for years as backup to conversations, action items, tasks, goals. It's good to look back at your past work!”
4. What are you looking forward to?
“I am looking forward to a vaccine to this virus so we can all get back to normal, whatever that might look like. At that time, I am going to travel, travel, travel.”
