Using Our Design Templates
Are you creating a cover design for this year’s contest? Using our templates is a great way to show off how your design will look on a physical cover! Here’s a tutorial for dropping your design file into our template:
Open both files in Photoshop.
Check the dimensions of your design. The file must be 9x12 in and 300 px/in for final submission - these dimensions will also work well for dropping the file into our template.
Duplicate the “Background” layer of your design file onto the template file. Make sure your design layer sits above the “Hue/Saturation” mask.
Transform your design layer to fit over the planner. You can lower the layer’s opacity in order to see the planner below as you align layers.
Create a clipping mask. Simply right click your design layer, select “Create Clipping Mask,” and your layer will “clip” onto the planner cover.
