Is Your Planner Ready for Black Friday?

Golden Coil Customizable Planner order on Black Friday

It feels like November just started, but it’s already time to start thinking about getting your planner ready to order on Black Friday! The process for designing your planner on our website is streamlined and well-designed, but it still takes time to gather the information you want to include in your planner as well as make decisions about how you’re going to customize it.

One of the biggest reasons to have your planner designed and in the cart before Black Friday is this: we don’t know how long each cover will be in stock! If a particular cover you have your eye on goes out of stock, we may not be able to get it back until spring or summer. Also keep in mind that our printed covers and some linens are limited editions — once they’re gone, they’re gone!

We want to make sure you have the best experience preparing and ordering your planner on Black Friday (we especially don’t want you to be scrambling during a holiday with family!), so to help you plan ahead, we made a list of the elements of designing your planner that may take more time.

  1. Contacts – Whether you upload a .CSV file of many contacts or enter a smaller number of contacts one-by-one into the provided form, it will take time to gather and record this information. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to reach out to and hear back from friends and family for updated information. A .CSV file will still require you to type up the information, but you’ll be able to upload all of your contacts at once instead of individually filling out the contact form. Here’s our tutorial for that!

  2. Events – You might be very organized and already have your Apple or Google calendars ready to go, but if not, you’ll want to take time to get all of your important events updated and entered in. If you have multiple calendars (one for appointments, another for birthdays, another for work), you can combine them into one calendar or your can upload one calendar at a time. We have tutorials for uploading an Apple or Google calendar here and here. You’ll want to make sure you give yourself time to check that your events and your contacts uploaded correctly into your planner.

  3. Choosing a Layout – If this is your first planner, you’ll want to look through each of our weekly layouts to figure out which one best fits your lifestyle. Is your daily schedule fluid? A layout with empty space or boxes might work best. Do you have a lot of appointments and meetings throughout the day? You might prefer an hourly or half-hourly layout. If this isn’t your first planner, analyzing how your used your previous one will help you make the most informed decision about which layout will help you get the most out of your next planner.

  4. +Pages – There are so many great options for +Pages you can add to your planner and there are also a lot of ways you can include them. Maybe you want to include a weekly grocery list, but do you want it to fall at the beginning of each week or do you want all of your grocery lists at the end of your planner? You could include blank pages on a monthly basis to give yourself space for notes and ideas, but how many pages do you need each month? Make sure to give yourself time to figure out which +Pages are most important to you and how you’d like them configured in your planner!

  5. Reviewing your Planner – Once you’ve finished customizing your planner, you’ll want to take time to go through each page and make sure everything looks right. This is critical because once your planner is ordered, it is automatically sent to the printer and you will be unable to make further changes!

As a note - if your cookies are enabled on our website, you should be able to begin creating your planner, leave, and come back at any time to finish customizing it. If you leave a completed planner in your cart, it should be there whenever you are ready to check out!

There’s no time like the present! Make sure to get your planner ready now so when Black Friday rolls around, all you have to do is hit “Place Order.” Happy designing!
