Keeping our planners organized is one thing, but keeping our homes organized is a whole different ball game! One of the best tricks to having an organized home is to have less things to organize! Here's a list of 10 things to throw away on the spot - you don't even have to think about it! When you see these things around your house, don't hesitate!

1. Socks with Holes

Honestly, we don't even wear them! So why keep them around? Save your toes some time and some grief by throwing those hole-y socks away the moment you spot that dreaded hole. Oh, and while you're at it, throw away it's match; nobody likes an unmatched sock.

2. Pens that don't work

There is no amount of chicken scratch that will get that pen to work, I promise.

3. Grocery Bags

For some reason we all feel like we should keep the plastic bags from the grocery store. Granted, they have some great uses, but do we really need 60 of them? Instead of becoming grocery bag hoarders (🙋🏼) let's recycle or use re-usable bags!

4. Broken Toys

Not only are they not as fun as they used to be, but they are also a potential choking hazard. If you don't plan on fixing it, discard it!

5. Bent bobby pins

Bent bobby pins don't work in your hair, so there isn't much use for them. Also, is there anything more painful than a bobby pin that has lost its rubber end? Ouch!

6. Junk Mail

There is nothing like thinking you've got a great pile of mail to dig into, only to find that it is all junk. How did you people even find my address? If you know it is junk, it's best to throw it away!

7. Expired Credit Cards

Chop them into pieces and say goodbye!

8. Empty containers

No need to keep those pesky empty containers: shampoo/conditioner, salad dressing, make up...etc. By the way, which kid put the empty milk carton back in the fridge?! 🙄

9. Broken Crayons

Sometimes, two is not better than one. Broken crayons are too short in one piece, let alone in two!

10. Expired Things

That expired medication? It's dangerous, throw it out! Expired food? It's nasty, throw it out! Did you know that your makeup expires? Throw that out too!

11. BONUS - Garbage

This one is a total no-brainer. We all keep it around though. Walk through your house, and you will find receipts, used sticky notes, popsicle sticks, clothing tags, candy wrappers, etc.. just laying around. It's garbage, but hasn't made it to the can. Don't wait, throw it in the nearest garbage can!
